Welcome to the City of Florala!
The City of Florala is located on Highway 331S, the beach highway on the AL/FL state line. Florala is proud to be home to the largest natural lake in Alabama, beautiful Lake Jackson. Some of the recreational amenities available to residents and visitors to the park include, but not limited to: a RV park, nature trail for biking and walking, swimming, fishing, boating, wetlands park, the Alabama Birding Trail, and a boat ramp for easy access. The 11,500 square foot Rodney J. Evans conference center and amphitheater is available for weddings and other occasions with a breathtaking view of Lake Jackson.
Tourists and travelers are invited and welcomed to stop a while in Florala for dining, shopping, sightseeing and/or enjoy a picnic and relax in the park on beautiful Lake Jackson.
For the history buff, the downtown Historic District as well as several houses on Fourth and Fifth Streets are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There is something for everyone to enjoy in this small South Alabama Community. We feel sure if you stop once on your way to the emerald coast beaches, you will make it part of your travel plans each year.
